SDGs resources round-up

  • lmi Granoff, James Ryan Hogarth, Sarah Wykes and Alison Doig: Scaling up clean energy to fight global poverty. This position paper released by ODI, with contributions from numerous authors and institutes, is centered around four key messages: 1) more coal will not end energy poverty; 2) coal is given too much credit for the reduction of extreme poverty; 3) better energy options exist to lift people out of income poverty; and 4) more coal will entrench poverty. It features analyses and statistics behind each of the messages, concluding with six recommendations for action.   • UNRISD: Policy Innovations for Transformative Change: Implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This 2016 Flagship Report by the UN Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) highlights the importance of addressing the root causes of problems and shows how some governments are leading the way through inclusive processes, partnerships and news ways of approaching governance. It examines innovations in social policy, the potential of care policies, the rise of the social and solidarity economy (SSE), and sustainable development in the context of climate change, amongst other topics.
