Nigeria has made some progress towards the Millenium Development Goals but not enough to achieve any of them. As a result, a number of meetings have been convened in Nigeria during recent times to develop a framework for their post-2015 agenda.
The Office of the Senior Special Adviser to the President on the MDGs organised an Expert Group Meeting to critically evaluate how the MDGs have worked as a framework and to identify strengths and weaknesses, especially in response to current development challenges. The Report of the Expert Group Meeting will constitute Nigeria’s presentation at the Rio conference in June.
Following the Expert Group Meeting, the World Bank Youth Forum convened a meeting to analyse and agree on a position paper to integrate youth issues into the emerging discussions around the global post 2015 Agenda. Download the ‘draft youth position paper on the post2015 agenda‘.
