A forthcoming event, entitled ‘Access to Justice and Post-2015’, will be held at UN HQ on the side of the 6th Session of the Open Working Group (OWG) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on Thursday 12th December. Read the event description below:
“Access to Justice and Post-2015: Legal Empowerment in Countries in Special Situations – African Countries, Least Developed Countries and Middle Income Countries.
Access to justice, legal identity, rights to land and property and other assets continue to be critical to poverty reduction and sustainable development relevant to countries in a range of special situations.
The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Benin to the UN and the Permanent Mission of the United Kingdom to the UN, in partnership with the Open Society Foundations and the United Nations Development Programme, will host a side event at the Sixth Session of the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals featuring speakers including former members of theCommission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor and the Co-Founder of the Global Legal Empowerment Initiative:
