Civil society organizations (CSOs) met in Bonn, Germany, on the 21-22nd of March. The meeting, entitled “Advancing the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Agenda: Reconfirming Rights, Recognising Limits, Redefining Goals“, explored the CSO agenda in the post 2015 framework.
A two day conference, organised with the help of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMW), it culminated in a warning to the Bali High Level Panel meeting entitled “A Red Flag for the Post-2015 High Level Panel”.
Participants also discussed amongst other things: putting human rights at the heart of the agenda; respecting planetary boundaries and the rights of future generations; common but differentiated responsibilities; reforming global economic and financial regimes; and creating universal, transparent and accountable goals.
